Transforming Agri-Tech:
CropCam Powered
by Eiratech Robotics
Eiratech Robotics has played a central role in the development
of CropCam, an AI-driven agricultural automation platform that delivers full-facility visibility into crop health and development.
In partnership with CambridgeHOK and SEC Storage, and with analytical support from Agri Data Innovations, Eiratech contributed its advanced shuttle robotics technology to enable intelligent data collection and tray handling across growing environments. CropCam marks a significant advancement in precision farming, allowing growers to improve decision-making, streamline operations, and maximise yield.
Overview
The Challenge
Modern horticultural facilities face increasing pressure to scale production while maintaining crop quality and minimising operational costs. Traditional crop monitoring methods rely heavily on manual sampling, which offers limited visibility, delays intervention, and often leads to inefficiencies or missed issues. The inability to assess every plant individually means that signs of disease, pests, or suboptimal conditions can go undetected until it’s too late. Growers needed a way to continuously monitor the entire growing area in real time, generate accurate data, and respond proactively to environmental or crop-related changes.
The solution
01
Eiratech Robotics developed and deployed a bespoke four-way shuttle robotic system as the core transport mechanism for CropCam. These high-performance shuttles navigate autonomously throughout the growing facility, moving camera arrays and sensor modules across all crop zones. This allows CropCam to capture high-resolution images and environmental data from every angle, enabling full-coverage analysis rather than partial sampling.
02
The robotic system goes beyond observation: its dual-purpose functionality includes automated tray movement, streamlining the logistics of crop repositioning and further improving efficiency within the facility. By handling both data collection and transport, Eiratech’s solution reduces manual labour, speeds up operations, and provides uninterrupted system uptime.
03
Once data is collected, advanced AI and machine learning models — developed by Agri Data Innovations — process the imagery to assess crop type, size, colour, leaf density, and overall plant health. This enables growers to identify irregularities, benchmark against historical data, and implement immediate corrective actions when needed.
“With CropCam, guesswork is eliminated” said Matt Ware, Horticultural Applications Advisor at CambridgeHOK. “Growers gain real-time, comprehensive visibility that improves productivity and ensures peak crop performance.”
Lucien Fesselet, Founder & CTO of Agri Data Innovations, added: “CropCam doesn’t just collect data—it interprets it. Growers can manage resources more intelligently, predict harvests, and enhance long-term yield performance.”
By integrating Eiratech’s intelligent automation with AI-powered analysis, CropCam has redefined what’s possible in modern agriculture—offering a scalable, efficient, and highly responsive solution that meets the evolving demands of today’s growers.
